Orlando Vacation Home Rates
Once you start looking to rent an Orlando vacation home you will find that the prices can be quite confusing! It can be difficult to compare prices properly when not everyone is using the same pricing system.
I am always upfront about pricing. I just don’t see any reason not to be honest about it.
There are generally up to 4 parts of a pricing system that Orlando vacation home owners and agencies may use. Why do they do this? Well partly I think it is to make it confusing to compare like with like or make their Orlando rental home seem like the best deal. Hotels do this too – adding on tax and resort fees to a basic per night rate.
1. The first part is the basic rental rate for the villa. That is the ‘per night’ or ‘per week’ rate for the actual rental of the house.
2. Then tax is added on to this. Orlando home owners pay resort and state tax on their rental income . This can be at 12% or 13% depending on where exactly the home is located – Kissimmee has a rate of 13% while Davenport is lower at 12%.
3. Pool and spa heating is often added as an extra. When you rent an Orlando pool home you will probably need the pool heating if you are staying between October and April.
4. Cleaning. Sometimes a cleaning fee is added too.
What pricing system do I use for my Orlando rental homes? I quote an all in one price. I believe it is much better to be completely clear on what the charges are going to be. If I buy something I don’t want to be told that something is one price, only to be told later that actually it is more! So I believe in being upfront about charges.
How should you compare Orlando vacation home pricing? Make sure that each includes all charges. If you are not sure then double check with the owner or agent!
