Beauty and the Beast

May 27th, 2008 Alison Posted in Uncategorized No Comments »

Beauty and the Beast has to be one of my favorite movies of all time. I think I first discovered it around 5 years ago when my daughter was so into all the Disney Princess movies – sadly these favorites are giving way to more ‘tween’ tastes as Hannah Montanah and High School Musical, but I still love the Disney movie classics.

belleoutside.JPG

As with many of the Disney Princess movies the story is based on a classic fairytale. The strong moral of the story is that appearance isn’t everything and that love can overcome all barriers. We can think in this cynical world that such sentiment has few places but I have to confess I am an optimist and think this is exactly the kind of message that we should be listening to.

One of my favorite shows at Disney World is the Beauty and the Beast show. I have lost count of just how many times I must have seen it. I know the words to the songs and the dialogue. I even know ( although there is no way I could do) all the dance routines. The Beauty and the Beast show at Disney World is one of the most popular shows and is at Disney Hollywood studios. Make sure you arrive early to get the best seats. Try to sit in the middle and as close to the front as you possibly can. The Beauty and the Beast theater is not huge so every seat is great but if you really want to feel part of the show then get as close as you can. This really is a Broadway quality show and it should be on your list of must sees in Disney Hollywood Studios.

Orlando Holiday Villa – The Perfect Choice for Your Summer Holiday

April 14th, 2008 Alison Posted in Uncategorized No Comments »

If you are looking to book a great holiday this year then Orlando has to be on your list of great choices. With the pound so strong against the dollar Orlando makes such a great choice – and if you are looking for really great deals then a holiday villa in Kissimmee can be a good deal for your family. So much more space, amazing luxury homes with swimming pools – nothing can be better for a fabulous Disney World holiday.

You really can have the best of everything with an Orlando holiday villa.  I am British but spend most of my time in the US.  At the moment I am on holiday in the UK – and noticing how expensive everything is here!  Food in particular seems much more expensive than when I was here the last time. People tell me that this is because prices have risen a lot here recently – well if you want to escape that then Orlando is perfect!  Eating out is so much cheaper in Orlando than the UK, and there is a lot more choice. Orlando is the perfect holiday destination and you can get some great deals on Orlando holiday villas.

I am offering specials at the moment for all bookings before the end of April – so if you want to cash in on the great prices for Orlando holiday homes then book now!

Windsor Palms Home Upgrades

January 11th, 2008 Alison Posted in Florida Vacation Rentals, Uncategorized, kissimmee florida vacation home rental 1 Comment »

I have decided that 2008 is the year for spending money on my Windsor Palms home. It is already one of the most popular homes on Windsor Palms and sometimes it is tempting just to sit back and think that this is enough. Well the reason that I bought a home on Windsor Palms resort in the first place was because I wanted to be able to say it was the very best resort available. I bought a home on the conservation area because I wanted the best view. And I upgraded all the furniture.

But time passes and you have to keep up with the maintenance of your vacation home. So this is why I decided to finally put in the game room that I had wanted to for a while, and also why I decided it was time for the carpets to go! When the Windsor Palms homes were built most people opted for the standard builder grade carpet – or as I would describe it ‘cheap carpet’! So I decided that the time had come to replace it all.

I did some research about the type of carpet I needed as I wanted to see if there were any ‘greener’ alternatives. Well I am pleased to say that I found one. The carpet that I chose was Mohawk’s everstrand carpet which is made using material from recycled plastic bottles. It looks and feels like high quality carpet but doesn’t have so much impact on the environment. It is so much more luxurious than the builder grade carpet that I had before and just adds to the feeling of luxury. It is one of the easiest carpets to keep clean too – something that is going to make me and my Windsor Palms home guests very happy!

Windsor Palms Resort – No Hidden Fees!

December 19th, 2007 Alison Posted in Florida Vacation Rentals, Uncategorized, kissimmee florida vacation home rental No Comments »

Windsor Palms resort has facilities to rival many expensive hotels in the Orlando area. Vacation homes already make a lot of sense in offering value to families looking for a great place to stay. But when you also look at all the hidden extras which often appear on your hotel bill it makes Windsor Palms look like an even better option! Windsor Palms resort facilities are free to guests, and many homes also offer lots of extras such as free wireless internet and phone calls.

Recently I stayed in a great hotel in California. One of the best I have ever stayed in. But it came at a price! The room rate looked good. Well that is the ‘headline’ room rate. The one that you see before you start adding the tax, the ‘resort fee’, the wireless internet access fee, the extortionate phone charges…….

But the charge that made me most annoyed was the valet parking fee. $25 a day plus tips! Was there a choice? Not unless you were prepared to put your car in the parking lot across the busy street about a 5 minute walk away!

So an added bonus to your Windsor Palms resort vacation? The resort facilities are free. So no charge for the Windsor Palms community pool, spa, tennis, gym, basketball, volleyball or even the movie theater!

Some Windsor Palms homes, like my conservation view home, may also offer free phone calls and free wireless internet. And no Windsor Palms facilities are free……..

Oh, and of course parking is always free at Windsor Palms! On your own private pool home drive!

So when you are working out the amount of money you save on a Windsor Palms home as against an hotel remember to think about all the ‘hidden’ hotel fees which can be upwards of $50 a day.

Orlando Holiday Homes – How to Find the Perfect One to Rent

December 14th, 2007 Alison Posted in Florida Vacation Rentals, Uncategorized No Comments »

I spend a lot of time talking to people wanting to rent an Orlando holiday home. They all pretty much say the same thing to me – there is so much choice out there it is confusing! They know that renting an Orlando holiday home is a good choice, but get overwhelmed with choice once they start looking to find one.

So what is my advice? I think the best thing you can do is to have some firm ideas of what you want from your vacation home before you even start looking. Write down your ‘wish list’ and work out what is important to you. I spoke with a lady today who wanted a Disney Princess themed room. This is a great feature to have on a wish list ( yes of course my Orlando homes have them)! Others really want a house on one level, or with a spa, or 2 master bedrooms. What I am saying is that whatever is important to you should go on your vacation home wish list. Then you can start narrowing down your choice before you even begin looking.

You might want to think twice about sending out a general enquiry to lots of Orlando vacation homes too – yes you do get a lot of choice, but sometimes so much choice your inbox gives up and crashes! If you can, pick a short list of 5 homes and contact the owners. If these don’t work out then move on to the next 5 and so on.

Searching for an Orlando holiday home should be an enjoyable experience – happy house hunting!

Orlando Rental Homes – Should I Book Early For Christmas?

November 30th, 2007 Alison Posted in Florida Vacation Rentals, Uncategorized No Comments »

I am often asked if it is better to book an Orlando rental home as far ahead as possible, or is it better to wait until the last moment. My advice? Book as soon as you know that you are going to be needing an Orlando rental home.

This is particularly true for busy times such as Christmas, Easter and all school vacations and holidays. You will get your best choice of homes if you start looking early. True, sometimes you get a bargain if you leave it too late, but you are relying very much on luck that the better Orlando rental homes are available.

So when should you be booking for Christmas? Well having gone through the experience today of trying to find a home for someone today over Christmas and New Year I now know exactly how tough it is to find something! It was really difficult, took me ages – and I know where to look! Two days of phone calls, emails and stress…. So November is most definitely way too late!

Thinking of Christmas 2008 or 2009 – book your Orlando rental home now!
