So just who is the person behind the homes?
I am Alison Meacham – mother, writer, traveler, gourmet cook (I wish), designer, reader, Disney addict and good listener.
I was born in England (not going to reveal which year)! I have been married to Richard for 15 years and we have 3 children aged between 1 and 9.
My first career was as a lawyer – but please don't hold that against me, there are (some) good guys out there too.
We always loved the US and when the chance came to move here in 2001 how could we refuse? We now spend our time divided between Florida, California and England. I didn't get on a plane until I was 23 but I think I have made up for it now!
I am a bit of a perfectionist – I like things to be just right. So when I bought the first house it had to be on the best plot on the best resort. The next was on the conservation area, then the next one was very very upgraded. You get the idea. I like to be able to say they are the best and it really be true.
Of course I love Disney World. I am so lucky to be able to visit all the time. I have spent many happy years advising guests how to make the most of their vacation. I realized that perhaps my voice had a wider audience and started to write about my favorite subject – Disney and all the Orlando theme parks. This has become a great career for me – one that I can combine with being at home and doing what I enjoy most – being with my family.
